Made By Hand: The Tiny Details That Make a Wedding Card Special
Hello Readers!
If the last post was about surviving wedding season with Daisy dog as my “helper”, this one’s about the quiet, fiddly, completely-by-hand bit I love most: the details.
Because when you order a personalised wedding card from my Leicestershire studio, you’re not just getting words on paper. You’re getting hours of handwork in every single layer.
Yes, I Really Do Make Every Flower By Hand
See these?

Each petal is cut, shaped, and layered by my own two hands. The crystal centres are placed one by one. No machines, no factory line, and definitely no “add to cart” bulk box from Amazon.
It takes about 15-20 minutes to make just one of these flowers. Multiply that by wedding season volumes and… well, let’s just say my fingers deserve their own holiday. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
When you choose a handmade wedding card, this is the kind of detail you’re paying for. The kind that makes someone open the box and go “oh wow” before they’ve even read the message.
What “Handmade” Actually Means in My Studio
“Handmade” gets thrown around a lot online. So here’s what it means when you order from me:
1. Designed by me: All of my personalised wedding cards start as sketches and ideas in my little card studio in Leicestershire.
2. Cut, foiled, and assembled here: From luxury cardstock to the final signature gift wrapping, every step happens at my desk. Usually with Daisy asleep on my feet.
3. Embellished by hand: Flowers, ribbons, crystals — each one is added individually. I check every petal and every sparkle before it’s packed.
4. Packed with care: Your card is wrapped, protected, and sent with a thank you. Because a handmade card deserves handmade packaging too.
There’s no team of staff. No warehouse. It’s just me, making sure the card you give on someone’s special day feels as special as the moment itself.
Why the Handmade Details Matter for Your Wedding Cards
You can buy a wedding card in any supermarket. But couples come to me because they want something their guests will keep.
A luxury handmade wedding card becomes part of the memories. I’ve had brides message me to say their card took pride of place on the gift table, and later in their keepsake box.
That’s why I’m obsessed with the details — because the little things are what get remembered.
And yes, it means I can’t make 500 cards in a day. My handcrafted wedding cards take time, which is why I recommend ordering 7-8 days ahead during busy wedding season.
Ordering Handmade Wedding Cards from Leicestershire
I ship my personalised wedding cards UK-wide from my studio here in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire.
You can see these handmade flowers in my Wedding Collection or Contact Me if you’d like to discuss custom colours, sizes, or a completely bespoke design.
Thank you for choosing handmade and for keeping small studios like mine going. And if you were wondering — Daisy is not allowed near the crystal flowers. We learned that lesson the hard way
